CBD is a kind of high value-added and non-toxic phenolic substance containing in the flowers and leaves of industrial hemp, which can be used in medicines, cosmetics and health food. It is a type of natural compound found in cannabis plants. Unlike delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that is the major active ingredient in hemp, CBD is not psychoactive.
There are three common forms of CBD extracts, which are full spectrum cannabidiol, broad spectrum cannabidiol and cannabidiol isolate respectively.
Full Spectrum Cannabidiol (Full Spectrum CBD)
The full spectrum CBD refers to a kind of hemp extract without further purification and separation, which contains not only CBD, but other substances extracted from cannabis plants, such as terpenes, other cannabinoids, vitamins, minerals and fatty acids. Generally the full spectrum CBD oil is viscous and thick with a dark color. Broad Spectrum Cannabidiol (Broad Spectrum CBD)
Like full spectrum CBD, the broad spectrum CBD contains a series of cannabinoids and terpenes, but it will loss or consciously remove some cannabinoids, generally it is THC. Other products is made by additionally adding into cannabinoids and terpenes based on CBD that has been separated.
Cannabidiol Isolate (CBD Isolate)
The CBD isolate is regarded as the purest CBD, which contains only CBD and removes other cannabinoids, terpenes and other components after being separated from cannabis plants. The final product is a kind of fine and white powder containing 99% of CBD without flavor and taste, which is frequently used to produce various derivatives of CBD, such as food, beverage and cosmetics.
