What is Ice Maker?

Refrigeration machinery that cools water into ice from the refrigeration system through the evaporator. Depending on the principle and production method of the evaporator, the shape of the produced ice cubes is also different. People generally divide ice machines into pellet ice machines, flake ice machines, plate ice machines, tube ice machines, shell ice machines, etc. in the shape of ice cubes.

Ice Maker Working Principle

The water enters the water storage tank through the water inlet valve, and then the water is pumped to the shunt pipe through the water pump, and the shunt pipe evenly flows the water to the evaporator, and the water is cooled to the freezing point. The water cooled to the freezing point freezes into ice, and the water that is not frozen by the evaporator flows into the water storage tank, which starts the cycle through the water pump.

When the ice cube reaches the required thickness, it enters the deicing state; a water film is formed between the ice cube and the evaporator, which makes the ice cube leave the evaporator and fall into the ice storage tank by gravity.

Type of Ice Maker

According to use: commercial ice machine, household ice machine, industrial ice machine.

According to the shape of ice: particle ice (cylindrical, square, moon), snowflake, flake ice, plate ice, tube ice, spherical ice, etc.

According to the cooling method: water-cooled ice machine, air-cooled ice machine.

Air-cooled:

The higher the ambient temperature, the lower the heat dissipation efficiency of the air-cooled condenser and the worse the cooling efficiency.

The temperature range of the air-cooled condenser is 20℃–50℃.

Generally, air-cooled condensers are not recommended for areas where the ambient temperature exceeds 38°C. Therefore, whether to choose an air-cooled condenser, the first thing to do is to confirm the ambient temperature.

Water-cooled:

When the ambient temperature exceeds 50 ℃, the condenser cannot be cooled with water, and the cooling tower is easily damaged by the high temperature. Cooling towers must be used with shade protection.

Installation of ice maker

  1. Place it horizontally in a well-ventilated, safe and clean place.
  2. The machine should not be placed in the open air, and should not be close to the heat source.
  3. Use ambient temperature 5℃-38℃
  4. The distance between the device and the wall is not less than 150mm for heat dissipation.

Installation of water system

Connect to a water source that meets drinking water standards. A filter can be connected if necessary to improve the water quality.

The water supply system must meet the following conditions:

  1. Water temperature 2℃-38℃
  2. Water pressure 0.02Mpa-0.8Mpa

Installation of the power supply

  1. The power supply should be the same as that marked on the machine nameplate.
  2. All lines must comply with national standards.
  3. The ground wire must comply with electrical standards.
  4. The voltage fluctuation shall not exceed ±10% of the rated voltage.
